TYPE OF DOCTORATE

In general, governments and institutions of higher education globally recognized three (3) types of Doctoral degree:

  1. The doctorate in scientific research or PhD (theoretical)
  2. The Professional or Disciplinar Doctorate (theoretical and practical)
  3. The Honoris Causa Doctorate (meritorious).
In Europe, offers the Industrial PhD (theoretical and practical), which is closer to our vision of the PhD in applied research in Educatronic, but whose designation (naming) is not recognized in America.

The Doctorate in Educatronic is a Professional Doctorate (theoretical and practical). That have as vision scientific and technological research, and as vission the implementation of educatronics solutions, to develop scientifically and technologically the industry and the academy.

OBJECTIVES OF THE DOCTORATE IN EDUCATRONIC

Individuals

  1. Develop scientific research aimed at updating the national education system by making it more competitive

  2. Develop technological research aimed at updating the national education apparatus by making it more productive

  3. Design and implement educatronic innovative solutions.

Collectives

  1. Raise levels of teacher professional development to improve their competitiveness and productivity.

  2. Make the institution a national and international reference in research and educatronic implementations.

  3. Promoting the virtual education of educatronic base.

PROPAEDEUTIC FORMATION

The academic, technological and scientific program of Doctorate in EDUCATRONIC are integrated by two (2) propedeutical cycles;

  • Cycle 1: Master in Virtual Educacation, Duration 2 years
  • Cycle 2: Doctorate in Educatronic, Duration 3 years

Cycle 1: MASTER FORMATION

The cycle 1 is the Master in Virtual Education, has 2 years, it is coursed entirely in virtual mode (on-line). In the first year must take three (3) units and one (1) thematic axis. In the second year must complete two (2) units, one (1) thematic axis and develop the graduation project.

The graduation project is the development (pedagogical, methodological and didactic) of a virtual course (Pedagogic Mediator), which technological development will be done through e-Content Industrial Park..

Given the model of propedeutical formation of the program, if at this point in the academic process the student wishes to finalize their studies will receive a degree of Master of Education Virtual, duly recognized by the institution and government authorities. If the participant fails to complete his master's cycle, the institution will issue a Diploma for each unit approved, and whose academic performance, the qualification and evaluation was higher than or equal to seventy-five percent (75%) of the maximum obtainable note.

  •   View the academic program; Master in Virtual Education

  • Cycle 2: DOCTORAL FORMATION

    The academic and scientific program of Cycle #2: Doctoral Formation in Educatronic, are integrated by three (3) sequential levels;

    • Level (year) 1: Theoretical : Student phase
    • Level (year) 2: Research: Researcher phase
    • Level (year) 3: Doctoral Thesis : Implementation phase

    First, Second, Third

Following the universal tendency of doctorates more oriented to productivity and competitiveness that the scientific philosophy, Doctorate in Educatrónica adopts major changes:

    First: Doctoral Admissions Application.

Once the participant has coursed and passed the Master of Virtual Education, must take one (1) year of theoretical studies in which he will be named as Doctorate Student, only at the end of this year of theoretical studies, he may submit the Application to Doctoral Admission.

If the doctoral committee does not approve the Doctoral Admission Application, the institution shall certify the title of Professional Specialization in Educatronic.

The Doctoral Admissions Application may be submitted up to three (3) times in a maximum period of one (1) year.

    Second: Doctoral Dissertation.

At the participant that has been accepted the Doctoral Admission, must do the international-internship, and develop one (1) year of educatronic research, cycle which he/she will be named researcher, only at the end of the year of research, he may present their Doctoral Dissertation, and when he/she will be accompanied by his Doctoral Committee.

Doctoral Dissertation may be submitted for consideration of approval, up to three (3) times within a maximum period of one (1) year.

Third: Doctoral Defense of the thesis.

The Doctoral Defense of the thesis will be the presentation of the Educatronic Solution: The Device-Trainer, the Pedagogic-Mediator (e-learning), and the Digital Simulator (e-training) to the scientific, technological and academic community appointed for the purpose.

    INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY: Internships in Asia

Once approved Doctoral Admissions Application, the second year begins with the International Internship includes two environments:

First: A visit to an Asian University that implements educatronic solutions in their model of teaching and learning. This university can be located in Hong Kong or Singapore.

Second: A visit to an Asian Industry Knowledge that design and produce educatronic solutions. These Knowledge Industries may be located in Taiwan or South Korea.

The duration of the international internship is one (1) week in an Asian University, and one (1) week in an Asian Knowledge Industry. The academic day will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. In the international internship each researcher (doctoral phase) define the members (scientific and technical advisors) of their Doctoral Dissertation Committee to assist on its process review.

    DOCTORAL THESIS

As Doctoral Thesis, the doctor candidate must present a EDUCATRONIC SOLUTION that integrates its three (3) fundamental components; e-learning (theory, or educablitity), e-training (digital practice, or digital teachability) and the trainer-devices (physical practice, or real teachability).

    EDUCATRONIC RESEARCH CENTER

The EDUCATRONIC Doctorate has three (3) laboratories for that their students in the implementation phase (3rd year, implementation of the thesis) design and develop their scientific and technological research in an environment of pedagogic, methodological and didactic pertinence. In the 3rd year doctor candidate should perfect the e-learning (created in the Master Program Cycle) and develop the e-training, and build the trainer-devices.

    educational ROBOTICS LABORATORY

The purpose of educational Robotics Lab is that students to acquire a high level of computer programming (simulation, expert systems, artificial intelligence), but in a totally practical environment, moving away of the teaching abstract programming traditional in Systems Engineering.

Have working an algorithm is relatively easy, make the same algorithm perform an automated task is equally simple, but in this second form is achieved with higher levels of significant learning. Under this model, the doctor candidate implements; Constructivism, Constructionism, and “Zone of Proximal Development”, and “Sociology of Knowledge”, and “Complex Thought”.

The doctor candidate in their role as teacher (doctoral requirement, with 80 hours of instruction in secundary) must implement educational robotics as a discipline that promotes scientific and technology consciousness to create a new generation of researchers

Educational Robotics lab is supported by the Systems Engineering Program and similars.

    INTELLIGENT BUILDINGS AND AUTOMATION LABORATORY

The purpose of the Laboratory of Intelligent Buildings is that the candidate to doctor acquire high expertise in the design, production and implementation of control networks under the LonWorks platform, especially in two areas, intelligent buildings (domotic and inmotic) and process automation.

Control networks are a fundamental element in the design and assembly of educational environments with trainer-devices, since it allows to the teacher, to the institution and to the users (students) of trainer-devices perform monitoring and control management on the teaching-learning process in virtual environment.

The Intelligent Buildings and Automation Lab has the support of Electronic, Civil, and Industrial Engineering Program, as the Architecture Program and similar.

    GLOBALIZED AND INTERACTIVE CLASSROOM

The relevant use by the doctor candidate of the global-interactive classroom technology is a prerequisite for creating the concept of Virtual Classroom; asynchronous (in time) and for multiple spaces. Whose pragmatic purpose is:

    • Interact with Asian universities and industry knowledge that is part of his doctoral dissertation committee.

    • Implement connectivity solutions that seek to create intelligence collective and connected in the design its teaching-learning educatronic model.
The global-interactive classroom Lab has the support of Education Program and similar.
